About Nancy Ng
Born in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra - Indonesia, 1987. Studied Graphic Design at Limkokwing University, Kuala Lumpur and works as Graphic designer and artist in Jakarta. Actively participated in group exhibition since 2015 in Indonesia and Singapore. I am all about colour, movement and brushstrokes. I work with oil paints because I appreciate the emotional bandwidth that I can get in the actual painting phase. Oils allow me to be both brutally violent as well as subtle and thoughtful.
I always besotted with nature and I like to think things evolve in a natural way, so I started with flowers because it was an easy way to fall into colour and my brushstrokes movement. To me, flowers are the perfect symbols for life, death, yearning, time and beauty. My brushstrokes are layered with my internal charges that really showed an arm movement or a feeling, like impatience and freedom to create new aesthetic and emotional experiences.
